Principles & Practices of Real Estate for Maryland Salespersons
Prepare to Succeed. Our real estate pre-licensing course has been approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission and the Maryland Real Estate Commission and satisfies the necessary educational requirements to sit for the Maryland Real Estate Salesperson Examination. The objective of the course is to familiarize the student with the basic principles involved in the sale, purchase, lease, ownership and transfer of real estate from the contractual, financial and agency perspectives of real estate transactions and Maryland Real Estate Law. A course exam must be passed before a certificate of successful completion can be issued. All 60 classroom hours must be attended. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be given a “Certificate of Completion” which is required to sit for the Maryland State PSI exam. Tuition is $190.
The Academy also offers an optional eight hour session consisting of a review class and practical exercises in preparation for the State PSI examination. The cost for the exam prep class is $50. Individual tutoring is also available.
The intensive 2 1/2 week day class will be held from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Alternatively, the intensive 2 1/2 week day class will be held from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
The 4 week evening class will meet from 5:30pm to 9:30pm, Monday thru Thursday.
Alternate Weeknight/Evening Classes:
The 8 week alternate weeknight class meets Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00pm to 10:00pm
The 4 week weekend class will meet on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
All classes are a total of 16 sessions (Session 16—Final Exam 2 hours)
Students must attend all 15 sessions to be eligible to sit for final exam.
If a session is missed, it should be made up within 60 days. If a student misses more than 3 sessions (12 Hours), he/she will be dismissed.
A passing score of 75% is required on both the General and Law exam.
Students may have 2 chances to obtain a passing grade on the final exams. If the student fails on either exam on the 2nd try, the student will not be eligible to receive a certificate of successful completion. Final Exam is 2 hours (1.5 hours on General Test and 1/2 hour on the Law Test.

Students may enroll at any time after the appearance of the announcement, and will be accepted into the next available class. To enroll, the student shall complete the enrollment agreement, show evidence of conforming with the entrance requirements below and return it (along with payment of tuition and costs for any books) either personally or by mail to the Academy. Payment may be in the form of cash, check or appropriate credit card. Reservations for the class are confirmed once payment is received and confirmed.
All applicants must be at least eighteen years of age and have provided evidence of high school completion or equivalency (GED) prior to beginning classes. In the event that a high school diploma or a G.E.D. certificate is unavailable, the school shall administer, through its representative, the Wonderlic Scholastic Level test.
